Our Philosophy

The philosophy of the Department is derived from the philosophy of the University which sets to achieve effective application of higher education for information dissemination, public enlightenment, and political education in the social, political and economic re-engineering of the nation. The Department provides high standard educational programmes through seminars, fieldwork and other pedagogical projects that cut across the spectrum of the Social Sciences and related disciplines with a view to making the students articulate and skilled professionals.
