Dr. Omolade Bamigboye

Head of Department

Dr. Omolade Bamigboye is a scholar of English (Language) with special interests in Stylistics, Sociolinguistics and Pragmatics. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Department of English and Literary Studies, University of Ado Ekiti, now Ekiti State University in 2003. He holds both a Master of Arts degree (2010) and a Doctorate (2016) in English (Language) from the same University. He assumed duty in the Department as an Assistant Lecturer on the 27th of April, 2012. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department.

He has published many articles in both local and international journals. He is a member of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) among many other Professional bodies. He attended as well as presented well-received papers at the 37th annual Poetics and Linguistics Association (PALA) conference in Westchester University, Pennsylvania and at the 24th conference of the International Association of Intercultural Studies (IAICS) at DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois.  He has served the Department of English and Literary Studies, the Faculty of Arts and the University in various capacities. He was appointed the Acting Head of Department of Mass Communication on 11th January, 2023.
