HISTORY OF THE FACULTY
Faculty of Multidisciplinary Studies was established on 1st August 2022 with two departments namely, Peace and Security and Gender and Development Studies. About three months later, the Department of Mass Communication was created. Before the establishment of the faculty, the university offered some courses in at the postgraduate diploma, master and PhD levels in the Institute of Peace, Security and Governance, and Centre for Gender and Development Studies. Both the institute and the centre metamorphosed to the Faculty of Multidisciplinary Studies and their academic programmes were run by the faculty. The Senate at its 277th regular meeting of 29th May 2023 approved three new academic programmes for the faculty namely B.Sc Gender and Development Studies, B.Sc Transport Management and Logistics, and B.Sc Information and Communication Science. These programmes will commence as soon as the university gets the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC). The faculty is working round the clock to commence its undergraduate programmes in 2023/2024 session. To this end, it is awaiting NUC resource verification in respect of the following academic programmes:

- sc Public Administration
- Sc Peace and Conflict Resolution
- Sc Intelligence and Security Studies
- Sc International Relations
Prof I.A. Ajayi was appointed as the pioneer Dean of the faculty on 1st August 2022 and Dr O. Ayodele of the Department of Industrial Chemistry was the first Sub Dean. Mr. T.A. Aguda was the pioneer Faculty Officer.
