The Department was created in 2023 with Dr. Omolade Bamigboye as the pioneer Ag. Head of Department. He is a Senior Lecturer from the Department of English and Literary Studies. The foundation staff include Dr. Felix Olajide Talabi, Dr. Daniel Nwanmereni, Dr Omowale Taofeek Adelabu, Dr. Samuel Oyeyemi Agbeleoba, Mrs Alaba Victoria Akinyemi-Oke and Mr Oluwole Victor Adefemi.

Objectives

1. Equip the students of the discipline with sound and relevant knowledge of mass communication that would prepare them to appraise and cope with challenges in a developing nation like Nigeria and to contribute effectively to its overall development.
2. Instill in the students the ability to apply basic scientific knowledge of the mass communication to provide national media development in making the students media professionals.
3. Engage the students in an intellectually stimulating and satisfying learning experiences to facilitate application of social sciences skills and principle in solving state and national problem.
4. Inculcate entrepreneurship skills in the students towards becoming self-reliant.
